About

Dr. Hemanta Barman is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Cotton University. He received his PhD in economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). His primary research focus is on macroeconomic issues related to India. In his doctoral dissertation, he studied the growth and dynamics of the services industries in India with a special focus in the banking and the telecommunications services. Dr. Barman has published research articles in reputed national as well as international journals. Before joining Cotton University, he was working as faculty at the Indian Institute of Bank Management, Guwahati. He also worked as Visiting Faculty at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur.
