About
Dr. Chandrima Chakravarty is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Cotton University . She graduated from B.N. College, Dhubri with major in Economics under Gauhati University in the year 1987. She obtained Post-graduate degree in Economics from Gauhati University in the year 1990, specializing in the area of Econometrics. Before joining Cotton University in the year 1997, she served in Dhubri Girls’ College(1991-1993) and P.B. College, Gauripur(1994-1997) .
She obtained her Ph.D degree in Economics from Gauhati University entitled “Production Behaviour of Bongaigaon Refinery-Its economic impact and environmental issues” In 2012. She published several research papers relating to refineries of Assam and the issues like impact of refineries on bio-diversity, production behaviour of the refineries etc. Dr. Chakravarty also submitted one minor research project under UGC in the year 2015.
She teaches Mathematical Economics, Econometrics and Statistics, in both under graduate and post-graduate courses. Till date, she has completed 24 years of teaching in the institution.
